Ornamental, turfgrass pest control course Nov. 4

Preregister before Oct, 28 for fall commercial pesticide applicator Continuing Instruction Course

Jefferson, Iowa – Iowa State University and Outreach Greene County office will host an Ornamental and Turfgrass Pest Control Continuing Instruction Course (CIC) for commercial pesticide applicators Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2026. The program provided by the ISU Extension and Outreach Pesticide Safety Education Program (PSEP) is available at office locations across Iowa.

The local attendance site is at the Greene County Extension Office.  Preregistration may be required; walk-ins may not guarantee admission. This course starts at 9:00am. Program run times may vary based on topics presented, please allow for up to three hours to complete the program. The registration fee is $45 on or before Oct. 28 and $60 after Oct. 28. The course will provide continuing instructional credit for commercial pesticide applicators certified in categories 3O, 3T, and 3OT. Topics covered will include personal protective equipment and safe handling; professionalism, storage of pesticides, including chemical security; and pests, pest management; and pesticides. Please note that attendance at a CIC does not automatically renew an applicator’s certification with the Iowa Department of Agriculture and Land Stewardship (IDALS).
